A car battery is part of the starting system. A car battery in a car is used to provide power for starting your vehicle. Car batteries provides the zap of electricity needed to put electrical components to work.

Batteries don’t function forever when they get old they die. Most batteries last for only 3 to 5 years, but certain batteries can last more than 5 years it just depends with the quality of a battery.  There several batteries in the market that last more than 5 years one of the battery brand I know that can last more than 5 years is FOCUS.

All in all a car battery is an essential part in a car  and it stabilizes the voltage  that keeps your engine running. for more information and  viewing our battery products check out this link Focus Battery

ANY STANDARD CAR BATTERY SHOULD CONTAIN

1. ACID IN THE BATTERY:

Battery acid – is the acid found in a battery which is a high solution of sulfuric acid and water.

2. CELLS OF THE BATTERY:

A standard car battery in today’s vehicles is a 12-volt battery. Each battery has six cells or more for example FOCUS battery has 7 cells that makes it more powerful. A car battery is considered fully charged at 12.6 volts or higher. When a battery is fully charged a green dot colour displays and when the charge is low it displays a red dot on top of the battery.

3. SIZE OF THE BATTERY:

Size of your car battery is based on your vehicles make, model and engine type. So a perfect standard car battery size is that one which will best fit the physical dimensions.

WHY CAR BATTERIES DIE

1. LEAVING LIGHTS ON ESPECIALLY HEADLIGHTS:

Lights especially headlights use a lot of power and that means they can quickly drain the battery. Now a days due to the advance technology most vehicles lights shut off automatically after few minutes.

2. LISTENING TO THE RADIO WHILE THE CAR IS OFF:

The battery is weakened when listening to the radio while the vehicle is off because by that time the battery is not recharging it self. So because the radio uses power from the battery, Power in the battery is drained.

3. FAILURE ALTERNATOR:

An alternator is the one that charges the battery when the vehicle is running. if the alternator is bad it fails leading the battery to not charge so the car  will be consuming the battery remaining voltage. The car will only last a few distance before the battery drains completely.

4. NOT SHUTTING CAR DOORS:

Leaving a car door not closed lights in a car remain on for quite sometime leading to drainage of the power battery.
